Who wouldn’t like to be seduced by the scent of fresh coffee and fresh rolls?
The great scent of breakfast wakes up the biggest long-sleeper on Sunday morning and suddenly the scent of fresh rolls makes him hungry, then it is an example how scents are able to animate somebody.
Who doesn’t think of palms, beach, sun and sea, if one smells the scent of pineapple or coconut?
If these fruits wouldn’t have a specific own-smell, they could not animate our fantasy. That’s why a pleasant odour activates our spontaneous emotions. You can say the sense of smell is the "gate to the soul". No perception reacts faster than smelling and causes such an intensive feeling. The smell is the immediate sense, because mostly you smell and recognize something before you can see it.

How it is possible that scents influence the human well-being importantly?
Our nose is incorruptibly. Something we smell causes more attention in our soul than something we see or hear.

With our nose we pick up tiny scent-molecules and these provoke 20 millions of nerve cells. There the scent will change into an electric signal and cause a spontaneous reaction in the brain, because the nerve cells are connected with the limbal system. The limbal system saves feelings, emotions and scents, too. According to signal, the brain pours out more or less hormones, influences glands and internal organs. This way, feelings are created and emotions are steered. Examples for this effect are a higher or lower blood pressure, a faster or slower heartbeat and enlivening or calming effects.

Sympathy for a person, well-being, joy, desire or dislike, motivation and creativity, all these things are influenced by the smell.

A light breeze of agreeable scents:

- reduces negative smells and improves the air quality

- causes more attention of customers and visitors

- causes an optimal atmosphere in all rooms

- gives clients a new shopping experience

- generates a positive customer-behavior

- extends the time, which customers linger in the store,  
  because where it smells good ...

- increases the desire to buy things and increases
  the turnover at the same time

- generates well-being and confidence

- motivates employees and improves the working-atmosphere

- increases power and creativity

- creates an advantage in the competition

You should use all these advantages to your distinction, because you generate a unique selling proposition.

For a long time scent marketing is very successful industry in Japan and the USA. Many scientific studies, e.g. a study of the university Paderborn, came to astonishing results:

- the time, which customers linger in the store increases about 15,9 %

- the agreeable scent increases the animation among buyers about 14,8 %

- in the test-phase impulse buying increase the turnover about 6 %
